A Japanese professor has created a TV that you can try

Modern films can affect the visual, auditory and tactile senses. But that may soon change: A Japanese professor has developed a display technology that you can taste.

The design consists of a display that is covered with a hygienic protective film, a mixture of 10 small tanks is sprayed onto it during content playback, they are mixed together to mimic the taste of food. The viewer can lick the film and thus feel the taste of the food.

The main idea is to give people the opportunity to taste food from different parts of the world without forcing them to leave their homes. Right now it’s just a project, but as Miyashita predicts, a commercial version of such a TV could start at $875.
