Apple Car Project Gets New Leader

Recently it became known that Apple left Doug Field. For several years he was involved in the Apple Car project. However, Field recently made the decision to move to work at Ford. As noted by Bloomberg, the apple car project did not remain without a leader for long. Now the development of the Apple Car led by Kevin Lynch.

Lynch first joined the Apple Car development team back in July. Then the sources claimed that he would simply take on some of the responsibilities and speed up the work. However, after the departure of Doug Field, Lynch became one of the key figures in the Apple Car project. He will reportedly be responsible for developing equipment and sensors for self-driving cars.

Interestingly, Lynch has no experience in the automotive industry. For the past several years, he has developed the Apple Watch and, prior to joining Apple, helped Adobe build the Adobe Creative Cloud platform. However, Bloomberg notes that Apple has enough talented professionals with experience in the automotive industry. In the past, the company has recruited former Tesla and BMW employees into its ranks.

At this point, it’s hard to say what stage the Apple Car is at. There are various rumors on the net about this. However, from time to time more and more new people leave the project. Bloomberg notes that all this slows down the development process and leads to disagreements.
