Apple is developing an alternative to ARM chips

Judging by the list of open vacancies on the Apple website, the company is now considering the possibility of creating its own chip based on the open RISC-V architecture. The latter can become an alternative to ARM solutions.

According to reports, Apple recently started looking for an engineer who is familiar with the RISC-V architecture. The main feature of the latter is the possibility of free use, including for commercial purposes. Simply put, the transition to the RISC-V architecture will allow Apple not to pay royalties to ARM.

It is worth noting that the RISC-V architecture did not appear yesterday. On its basis, quite technological solutions are created. In particular, chips based on the RISC-V architecture are planned to be used in data processing centers, as well as mobile and hybrid devices.
