Apple will help Ukraine conduct a population census

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on his Twitter said that Apple will help in conducting a census of the Ukrainian population. In passing, this issue was already raised a few months ago during a meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky and Tim Cook. The last one took place at the beginning of September.

It is worth noting that in the past, Apple “participated” in the conduct of the US census. To do this, the company leased a large number of iOS devices to government agencies, and then helped in data processing. Apparently, according to a similar scenario, a population census will be conducted in Ukraine.

It is reported that a memorandum of cooperation between Apple and the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has already been signed. The population census should start in 2023. If the initiative is successful, then Ukraine will become the second country in the world that Apple will help to implement such a large-scale project.

The participation of the iPhone manufacturer should not only speed up the process of collecting and processing information, but also reduce the state’s costs for conducting a population census. In addition, Apple will take part in other initiatives. For example, the company should help with the adaptation of the Diya application for iOS.
