Aqara talked about its new smart camera that will replace the very popular G2H. Externally, the novelty called G2H Pro is not much different from its predecessor. In fact, it stands out only by the presence of an RGB LED, with which users can distinguish in which mode the camera is operating – firmware update, pairing, recording, etc.
All major changes have taken place inside. The G2H Pro continues to feature a 1080p module. However, the developers have increased the viewing angle. Now it is 146 degrees, against 140 in G2H. In addition, G2H Pro received support for SD cards up to 512 GB and NAS.
In addition to HomeKit support, the new camera is also fully compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home / Assistant and features a time-lapse feature, advanced privacy protection, and user-defined ringtones.
The disadvantages of the new model include the lack of support for the 5 GHz Wi-Fi range and the “outdated” power connector. The G2H Pro still uses micro-USB. There is also no word yet on when Aqara will start selling its new smart camera outside of China.
