Last week, Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter, reported that Apple has begun work on a new CarPlay that will be deeply integrated into car systems and allow you to control the climate, audio system, seats, etc. Designer Parker Ortolani showed how he can look like CarPlay after such an update.
The author of the concept almost completely redesigned the interface of the Apple car system. First, the main screen has changed. Now it displays modified weather and navigation widgets. And secondly, an electric car battery indicator and climate control settings appeared on the main screen.
The position of widgets on the display may change depending on which application is currently active. So, when you turn on the radio or open the music player, the navigation block will be shifted to the right, and the weather informer will completely disappear from the display.
Ortolani also decided to remove the Home button from CarPlay. It was replaced by the Application Library. This innovation will give users the opportunity not only to view all available programs, but also to change their position on the display in accordance with their own desires.
According to the author of the concept, CarPlay also lacks a more convenient volume indicator and special settings that will allow you to interact with home garage doors through HomeKit.
In general, the concept looks very realistic. However, this does not mean that this is exactly what the new version of CarPlay will look like. According to sources, the project is still at an early stage.
