Huawei released a smart lock with Face ID

Huawei showed Smart Selection Dessmann Smart Door Lock: a new door lock can be opened in six ways, including face recognition. Special sensors built into the display of the device are responsible for this technology.

You can also open the lock using a key card, proprietary application, fingerprint, passcode or smartphone with NFC. The smart lock has a built-in 5000 mAh battery, is protected from hacking and can activate the alarm mode (subject to entering a special code).

The cost of the novelty, which some users in China have already installed, is $448.

Of course, the most interesting feature is face unlock, because we have not seen this technology implemented in smart door locks for home use before. In a pandemic, and indeed, it’s good to make life easier and open the door without interacting with the handle, if you have, say, heavy packages in your hands.
