IKEA unveils hidden wireless charger

IKEA has introduced an unusual wireless charging station called Sjömärke. A key feature of the novelty is that it can be placed under the countertop. Thus, it will not take up space on the table. At the same time, such a location will not affect the functionality of charging in any way. Users will only need to place the device on top of the IKEA Sjömärke to recharge the battery.

The manufacturer claims that the novelty is compatible with almost any furniture. The table top can be made of wood, plastic or even glass. The main thing is that its thickness does not exceed 22 mm. Otherwise, the signal simply will not reach the receiver in the smartphone. Also, no metal decorative elements or metal sheets should be placed on the “path” of the IKEA Sjömärke. Charging power is 5W.

The official IKEA website states that the Sjömärke can be fixed using double-sided tape or screws. True, the latter are not included in the package. For now, you won’t be able to purchase an accessory. It is expected to go on sale in October this year. The price for IKEA Sjömärke is $39.99.
