NEW UPDATE: Apple Will Start Viewing Not Only Photos But Also Messages On The iPhone
The American company Apple has officially confirmed introducing photo content verification into iOS and iPad OS devices. The measure is intended to limit the dissemination of materials about child sexual abuse.
At the system level, new cryptography applications have been deployed. The technology will detect prohibited materials stored in iCloud Photos containing scenes of child abuse. If such content is found, Apple will provide law enforcement information about it.
In addition to dubious photos, iOS will track the content of messages received in the same name application. Using machine learning, the system will alert children and their parents when they receive or send photos and links of a sexual nature.
Finally, the voice assistant Siri and Search will intervene if the user searches for child sexual abuse material topics. The system will explain to the user that interest in this topic is harmful and dangerous.
Similar functionality will work on iPhone and iPad after iOS 15, that is, in the fall of 2021. For now, preventive censorship will operate only in the United States, but the company intends to extend this practice to other regions.
