iPhone 13 Pro will get an ultra-wide-angle lens with autofocus

Earlier this year, respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that Apple may be adding an improved ultra-wide-angle lens to new smartphones. Now he has supplemented his previous forecast, saying that the innovation will appear only in the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. In the “younger” models, this option will become available in 2022.

For now, the ultra wide angle lens used in the iPhone 12 is fixed focal length. This imposes some restrictions on shooting. However, in the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, Apple should solve this problem by adding autofocus to the ultra-wide-angle lens.

In addition, the analyst reports that the company will change other characteristics of the module. In particular, it will increase the number of lenses from five to six, and also increase the aperture, so the camera will be able to “collect” more light.

According to rumors, this year Apple will not radically change the design of its new smartphones. At the same time, all new apple devices should receive a reduced cutout in the display and an image stabilization system with a matrix shift.
