iPhones will be able to accept contactless payments with a new update

In 2020, Apple acquired Mobeewave, a startup that had a track record of bringing contactless payments to the iPhone. Bloomberg has now reported that a new iOS update could bring the technology to all iPhones.

If so, you’ll be able to pay with credit cards by simply tapping them on your iPhone. This will greatly simplify the work of small businesses that often need to buy additional equipment. Interestingly, the introduction of technology will also allow iPhone owners to make contactless payments by placing their phones on the back.

It is not yet clear whether the feature will work as part of Apple Pay or another system program will be assigned to it. Most likely, the update will be shown as part of WWDC 2022 and it will be one of the features of iOS 16. Or Apple will release the update as iOS 15.4.
