Back in early summer, information appeared on the network that Apple would equip its new MacBook Pros with fast SD card slots. Sources said that they will support the high-speed UHS-II standard. Shortly after the release of the MacBook Pro 2021, Apple officially confirmed these rumors.
Thanks to this innovation, users can even expand the amount of built-in storage. To do this, they need a UHS-II SD card. Under ideal conditions, data transfer rates from this drive can reach up to 312 MB/s. More than others, though, photographers and videographers should be excited about the arrival of faster memory card slots. They will be able to easily transfer all the footage without the need to connect additional accessories to the MacBook.
By comparison, older apple laptops used relatively slow memory card slots. They allowed data to be transferred at speeds up to 100 MB/s.
Recall that in addition to the SD card slots, the 2021 MacBook Pro also “returned” the HDMI port and the magnetic charging connector. At the same time, Apple has retained a large number of USB-C. The new MacBook Pro has three of them.
