MacBook Pro (2021) with M1 Max chip outperforms Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060

Many game makers, and users alike, are convinced that MacBooks aren’t good for gaming. However, Apple recently released the most powerful 2021 MacBook Pro with M1 Max processors, and now everything can change.

Famous Youtuber MrMacRight tested MacBook Pro (2021) with M1 Max chip and 32GB RAM to launch 25 popular games. The list includes such resource-intensive video games as: Baldur’s Gate 3, Overwatch, GTA V, The Witcher 3, CS:GO, League of Legends, DOTA 2, etc.

The performance of the M1 Max graphics chip proved to be superior to the Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060 graphics card, according to 9to5mac.

Fully optimized for Apple Silicon, Baldur’s Gate 3 runs well at 1440p and runs pretty well at 120fps. The game Metro Exodus is not optimized for the Apple ARM chip and runs through Rosetta, but draws 40-50 fps in native resolution.

The Witcher 3 runs through CrossOver 21. Works well at 1920p, 47.9fps. CS:GO via Rosetta 2 runs at 1080p, 80fps.

These are not ideal figures for a gaming laptop. And no one is saying that users will pay for the M1 Max just to play.
