Schlage launches smart lock with Apple HomeKey support

The well-known American manufacturer of locks, the Schlage company, presented its new smart lock at CES 2022. The Encode Plus Smart WiFi Deadbolt is a lot like regular HomeKit-enabled locks. However, the new model has a number of useful features that make it stand out from the competition. Chief among them is support for the Apple HomeKey option.

The latter allows users to add an electronic key to open the door to the Wallet application. This greatly simplifies the process of opening doors – iPhone and Apple Watch owners no longer need to unlock their devices to unlock the lock.

Another useful feature of Encode Plus Smart WiFi Deadbolt is the ability to create temporary keys that can be shared with other users. In total, the lock can recognize up to 100 access codes. Additional electronic keys have fairly wide settings. For example, users can set their expiration date or the time frame in which a particular key can open the lock.

In addition to HomeKit and Apple HomeKey, Schlage’s new lock also supports Google Assistant and Alexa.

On sale Encode Plus Smart WiFi Deadbolt should appear in the spring of this year. The price of the lock will be $299.99.
