Sonos Unveils Beam Gen 2 Soundbar with Dolby Atmos

Sonos has announced the release of the second version of the Beam soundbar. This time, the novelty received support for Dolby Atmos spatial sound, AirPlay 2, as well as NFC for seamless customization. Sonos has upgraded the new processor, it has become 40% more productive, which makes it possible to listen to spatial sound.

The new speaker system supports HDMI eARC, so you can watch your favorite movies with sound without loss of quality. In addition, customization is available via NFC and the built-in Trueplay Sonos equalizer.

Unfortunately, the new Sonos will not work with spatial audio for Apple Music. This was confirmed by the developers, who hope to soon fix this defect with a new firmware. Accessories for the first generation of Sonos Beam will be compatible with the second version. Manufacturers have assured that support for the original Sonos Beam will continue.

The new soundbar is available for pre-order for $449 and will only be available in the US on October 5th.
