Tesla has released a charger that is compatible with other electric vehicles

A new charger with a J1772 connector has quietly appeared in the Tesla online store. This is a wall charger that was added after the news that another brand of electric car can now be recharged at the Supercharger station in the Netherlands.

The cost of a small charging station is only $415 in America. This is not much for such a versatile device. Tesla says it can charge up to 9.6kW and is designed to be installed at home or outdoors. The charger has one minus – it can not connect to Wi-Fi.

This is a major move by Tesla as the device can be used with vehicles from other manufacturers and connectors. J1772. Own Tesla electric vehicles can be charged from it via an adapter.
