Mark Gurman from Bloomberg shared some data about future Apple devices. According to his forecasts, the new year 2022 will be remembered for the announcement of completely new products, like the Apple VR headset, as well as several global improvements to existing devices.
First, Apple plans to release five new Macs in 2022:
- 27-inch iMac with M1 Pro chips | M1 Max;
- Updated Mac mini in a new design on a proprietary Apple chip;
- New MacBook Air 2022, which may be named without the “Air” prefix and will run on the M2;

Secondly, Apple Watch next year is also waiting for an update. Apple will show the new Apple Watch SE 2. They will get more flagship features, possibly adding an ECG. Also, according to Gurman, it is worth waiting for the release of the Apple Watch 8 version for athletes. They will be more impact resistant, protected from moisture and much more.
Thirdly, Apple will completely update the iPad. There will be an iPad Pro with wireless charging, the new iPad (2022) will receive a minor processor and camera upgrade with Spotlight support, while the iPad Air 2022 will not get a mini-LED screen this year.
New Apple VR Headset will aim to provide game developers and gamers with a new immersive virtual reality experience. The headset is expected to feature high resolution displays, fans and dual processors. Apple may also be working with content producers to bring virtual reality movies and TV shows to the headset.
