Not so long ago, representatives of Goolge spoke about their plans to update branded applications for iOS. The main innovation should be a modified interface. Google wants to abandon the concept of Material Design. It should be replaced by calmer interfaces in the style of Apple.
Designer Parker Ortolani gave a visual demonstration of what the updated Google apps for iOS could look like.
Google Maps
Google is unlikely to drastically change the design of the Maps app. However, the company may well abandon the “floating” bar at the top of the screen. It should be replaced by a more familiar block with larger buttons.
Google Chrome
Google’s mobile browser interface shouldn’t change too much either. In essence, the company can simply replace the existing panels with the blocks currently used by Apple. This will make Chrome more like Safari. But that doesn’t mean it won’t have its own unique features.
Gmail, Documents and Search
The least work Google will have to do is with its search application. In fact, here you only need to rearrange the icons and replace a few buttons. Even now, without all these changes, it fits well with iOS.
Gmail and Docs need a little more work. But in general, you can wait for some global changes only in the mail client.
YouTube
The YouTube client will change the most. This is an application that has a lot of customizable elements, so its design will be significantly redesigned.
