TikTok may introduce avatars, followings and group chats

TikTok is actively working on introducing a number of new options to the service. According to social media analyst Matt Navarra, in the near future, users of the social network will be able to create avatars for themselves, chat in group chats, and subscribe to their favorite bloggers. The latter should be similar to those that have been on Twitch for quite some time. In addition, TikTok is considering new content filtering options. In particular, adding a keyword filter to the recommendations page.

So far, new features are only being prepared for launch. We are not talking about a full release. However, new information allows us to understand the direction in which the platform will develop.

Notably, TikTok representatives confirmed that they are now actively working on creating a number of new features. However, this does not mean that all ideas will be implemented. TikTok notes that a lot depends on the reaction of users. It is possible that during the development and feedback process, some features may change a lot.

Notably, TikTok is not the only social network to launch custom avatars. Last week, this option appeared on Instagram.
