WhatsApp supports multiple iPhone devices | Android

WhatsApp received an important update: now the program can be use on several devices at once under one account. The possibility of expanding access to four devices is available, which must be connected to each other.

In order to open access to the beta version of the function on the iPhone, you need to:

  1. Download and update WhatsApp;
  2. Open the Application Settings, and then the item “Linked devices”;
  3. Select a beta version and click “Join”.

Pairing multiple devices via WhatsApp isn’t perfect yet: you can’t make calls or delete messages unless one of the devices has a beta installed. Also, you can not use an account on two smartphones at the same time.

If you do not use your account on one of the devices for more than 14 days, the system will automatically log out of your account and unlink the unused device. The developers also warned that activating the beta version could lead to bugs and communication problems. You can opt out of using the beta at any time.

WhatsApp previously said they were working on their iPad app. Multi-device support hints that an iPad app release is just around the corner.
