YouTube is testing a Premium Lite subscription

YouTube has launched a new, cheaper plan in Europe called “Premium Lite”. So far it is only available in test mode. However, it is already known that after the registration of this subscription, any advertising will be disabled on YouTube. At the same time, the new package did not receive other chips of the Premium tariff.

At the moment, “Premium Lite” has only been launched in Scandinavia and a number of other European regions, excluding Iceland. The price for the new tariff is 6.99 euros per month. For this money, users get access to videos without ads.

The new tariff was created specifically for those who do not need background playback of videos and the ability to save videos in the device’s memory for further viewing offline. Also, Lite users will not receive YouTube Music Premium. The latter removes ads from the music section of Youtube and allows you to listen to music without a video sequence. Recall that the “full” YouTube Premium costs $11.99.

Basically, the new YouTube viewing plan doesn’t offer much. Some users find it not very profitable. However, video hosting representatives note that the Premium Lite subscription is still at the testing stage and its conditions are subject to change.
